On the 27th of October, 2016, the Next-CSP project had its kick-off meeting in Brussels to launch the project for the next 4 years.
It was the occasion to gather all the partners of the project (http://next-csp.eu/about/partners/) make a review of the work packages objectives as planned in the Description of Work (http://next-csp.eu/about/workplan/) and meet the project officer of the European Commission (EC) who is going to follow the project.
The next-CSP project objective is to improve the reliability and performance of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants through the development and integration of a new technology based on the use of high temperature (800°C) particles as heat transfer fluid and storage medium. To achieve this objective, the project will demonstrate the technology in a relevant environment (TRL5) and at a significant size (4 MWth). The complete system will be tested at “Thémis” experimental solar tower facility (France).
